  For the 2021 Rankings, data on 415 communities across Canada was collected and compared based on specific categories that were considered to hold the most importance for an average individual. With a subsequent change in priorities and remote working coming into the mainstay in view of the COVID-19 pandemic, some categories were accordingly streamlined by Maclean's.
